We focus on the Wella Professionals colour wardrobe — Koleston Perfect, Illumina Color, Color Touch, Shinefinity, Blondor and Color Fresh CREATE — across the full depth of shades, plus developers, toners and mixers. If you need a specific code, ask.

It is depth/tone. The number before the slash is the depth (1 darkest to 12 lightest); the digits after are the tone — 0 natural, 1 ash, 2 matte, 3 gold, 4 copper/red, 5 mahogany, 6 violet, 7 brown, 8 pearl, 9 cendré. Both are permanent. Koleston Perfect is the all-rounder — up to 100% grey coverage, every tonal family and lifting shades. Illumina Color is built for luminous, multi-dimensional results and how colour looks under different light, and is especially kind on the hair. Many salons carry both and choose per service. Koleston Perfect and Illumina Color use Welloxon Perfect developer; Color Touch uses its own emulsion; Shinefinity uses its zero-lift activator. As a rule of thumb 6% (20 vol) covers grey and gives one to two levels of lift, 9% (30 vol) gives two to three, and 12% (40 vol) is for high-lift work. Always confirm against the current pack instructions — see the developer guide.

Koleston Perfect is typically mixed 1:1 with Welloxon Perfect (for example 60g colour to 60ml developer). The Special Blonde 12/ series is usually mixed 1:2. These are general ratios — always check the current instructions for your specific shade and result.

Permanent colour like Koleston Perfect and Illumina Color is usually developed for around 30–45 minutes depending on the shade and result; demi-permanent Color Touch is shorter, often around 15–30 minutes. Timing varies by product, base and desired result — follow the pack and your strand test.

Demi-permanent Color Touch blends grey beautifully and is brilliant for low-commitment, natural-looking results, but for full, solid coverage of resistant or high-percentage grey a permanent like Koleston Perfect with the right natural base is usually the better choice. Permanent colour uses an alkaliser and a higher developer to open the cuticle, deposit colour and lift; it grows out with a regrowth line and fully covers grey. Demi-permanent (like Color Touch) is gentler, deposits tone without lift, fades softly with no harsh line, and is ideal for toning, refreshing and grey blending. Full explainer on the blog.

Reach for the cool tones — ash (/1), pearl/violet (/8, /9) and the right level. A demi like Color Touch or a toner over a clean, pre-lightened base neutralises warmth; the violet/blue side of the wheel cancels yellow and orange. The exact formula depends on your starting level, so strand test first.

Professional hair colour is intended for trade use by trained colourists. Always follow Wella’s directions, including the allergy/skin-allergy test, and use the correct developer and ratios. If you’re setting up a salon account, tell us and we’ll help.

On the shade chart (and the colour ranges), tap any swatch, choose a quantity and add it to your colour list. Open the list any time from the bag icon in the top bar, adjust quantities, then send it to us with your details — we reply with pricing and availability, usually within one business day. No payment is taken on the site.

Pricing is trade-based and confirmed per account, so we quote against your list rather than showing fixed prices. We offer salon and stylist trade pricing, with options for higher volumes and for businesses that want to resell. Send your colour list or a trade enquiry to get set up.

As a guide, one 60g tube of permanent colour covers a typical short-to-mid root application; longer or thicker hair, full-head or lightening work often needs two or more. Order a little spare for consistency — tell us your typical services and we can suggest sensible par levels.

We can point you in the right direction based on the look you’re after and the base you’re working on, but the final formulation and any test are the colourist’s call. For complex corrections, rely on your training and Wella’s technical guidance.
